A few years ago, I was asked by someone to make a vinyl sign that said “come sit a spell”.  After a little research, I learned that spell means “short time”, not magic.  But, I thought the saying was perfect for a Halloween sign.  So, I made this.

Here’s what you need:
– Wooden slat sign
– Acrylic Paints and Brushes
– Vinyl for Stencil
–Transfer Tape
– Jute, Ribbon, & Broom (optional)
– Electronic cutter (cricut exploresilhouette or other cutter)
– Cut File (available for free in my resource library)

I had some scrap wood in the garage, so I made a sign similar to this.  I just put the vertical strips on the back instead of the front.  Then, I painted it black.

After the paint dried, I applied my vinyl stencil.

To prevent the colored paint from bleeding under the vinyl, I painted a light layer of black over the stencil.

Next, I carefully filled in the colors.

Then, I carefully removed the vinyl stencil.

I drilled two holes in the top and attached it to a witch broom with some jute.  To finish it off, I added a cute black bow at the top.
