For most schools around the country, teacher appreciation week is the first week of May. I was totally expecting our school to be the same, but yesterday my kids brought home a note that said teacher appreciation week is being celebrated next week. What?!? So today, I thought I would share this quick and easy idea I put together. It was easy to make and can really be done with any container. Plus, you can put anything inside you think the teacher would enjoy.

Here’s what I used:
– Plastic container (I found mine at Dollar Tree)
– Vinyl
– Transfer Tape
– Treats, Teacher Supplies, Gift Cards (anything a teacher would like)
– Electronic cutter (cricut explore, silhouette or other cutter)
-Cut File – Teacher Subway Art BA2466 (click here to get the SVG file for free from my free SVG Library)
Here is what I did:
I found these cute green plastic bins at the dollar store. The green color made me think of apples so I created this fun teacher subway art to add to the bin.
I used my electronic cutter to cut out some red, brown, and green vinyl. After the vinyl was cut, I weeded away the excess and used transfer tape to apply the vinyl to the bin.
Then, I filled it with treats in red and green packaging (to go with the apple theme) and wrapped it all up in cello wrap. I printed out a tag that says “It’s been such a TREAT to have you as my teacher!”
This would also make a great end of year teacher gift!
Want to make your own? You can purchase the cut file I used for this project below.
I’d love for you to pin this project before you download. Thanks!
If you use this SVG to create any projects, I’d love to see! Please share a photo of anything you make with my files. You can send it to [email protected] or tag me on social media with #burtonavenue.
Thanks and come back soon!

Very cute. With 4 days of school left, I need to get on making something for the teachers too. I love the bins at the dollar store for baskets like this.

Thank you so much for the freebie….definitely buying the commercial license for this one!
Such a great idea! For me, for the best gift is something that teacher reminds you when she sees this. Like bookmarks, tote bags, thoughtful notes. I’m sure this simple gifts will love teachers.
