HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED

HERE’S WHAT YOU DO

STEP 1: DOWNLOAD THE FREE SVG FILE

The first thing you’ll need to do is get the free SVG file you’ll use for this project.  I keep all the SVG files I use for the projects I make in my SVG Library.  These SVG files work with Cricut and Silhouette machines, as well as many others. This library is open to everyone and is free!  You can access the library here. Look for the file called Chimney Box BA2404. It will be listed under the Craftmas 2024 Category-Day 4.

STEP 2: CUT THE CARDSTOCK

Open the design in your software program. Resize the design to 5.75″ high and let the width adjust proportionally.   If you are using Cricut Design Space, you will need ungroup the design.  Then select the perforation lines and the red shape behind them and click attach. Cut the designs out of cardstock.

To remove the cardstock from the cutting matt, you’ll want to slightly bend the cutting mat and carefully pull off the pieces.

STEP 3: ASSEMBLE THE CHIMNEY BOX

Add some glue onto the chimney outline shape.

Attach it to the red box cutout.  This will be the front of the box.

Glue the snow over the top of the brick outline.

Fold along all the perforation lines.

Add some glue to the side tab.

Fold it around and attach it to the back piece to form the box.

Now, add some glue to the bottom tab.

Tuck it inside and attach it to the back of the box.

Use a boning tool or something similar to press down on the tab.

Fold some ribbon in half and thread it through the hole at the top of the box.

Form a loop with your finger.

Pull the ends of the ribbon through the loop.

Trim off the excess ribbon.

Place a chocolate Santa inside the box.

And that’s it, this cute chimney box is finished!
