HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED

HERE’S WHAT YOU DO

STEP 1: DOWNLOAD THE FREE SVG FILE

The first thing you’ll need to do is get the free SVG file you’ll use for this project.  I keep all the SVG files I use for the projects I make in my SVG Library.  These SVG files work with Cricut and Silhouette machines, as well as many others. This library is open to everyone and is free!  You can access the library here. Look for the file called Happy Holidays Money Card BA2301. It will be listed under the Craftmas 2023 Category-Day 1.

STEP 2: CUT THE PIECES FOR THE MONEY CARD

Open the design in your software program. Resize the design to 4″ x 4″.  If you are using Cricut Design Space, you will need to ungroup and separate the three layers.  Then, select the white layer and the perforation lines and click attach.

Once the first piece of cardstock is finished cutting, remove it from the cutting mat.  You’ll want to slightly bend the cutting mat and carefully pull off the cardstock.

Load on the next color and repeat until everything has been cut.

STEP 3: ASSEMBLE THE MONEY CARD

For each money card, you will need three layers: the back layer, which is solid, the middle layer, which has some of the design cut out, and the top layer, which has all of the design cut out.

Glue the middle layer to the back layer.  Make sure the edges are lined up.Glue the top layer to the middle layer.  Make sure you don’t put any glue on the circles at the bottom of the card.
Once again, make sure everything is lined up.

After the glue has dried, fold up the tabs along the perforation lines.

Tightly roll up a paper bill.

Slide the bill through the slots and center it.

And that’s it. Now you have a super cute way to give money for Christmas!
