I don’t usually do potpourri, but last year my daughter decided we needed to change that. So, we made up a mixture of stove top potpourri.  I loved how it made my house smell. I loved it so much, I decided it would make a great gift for friends, neighbors, and teachers.  I wanted to create a nice way to gift it, so I set out to find some supplies that would make this gift extra cute.  I LOVE how it turned out. Not only is it gorgeous to look at, but it also smells amazing. This is probably my most favorite Gift Ideas Ever! This stovetop potpourri is a quick and easy gift idea for neighbors, teachers, family, and friends. With just a few simple supplies, you can create this too.

HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED
HERE’S WHAT YOU DO

Start by adding 1.5-2 oz of spice mix to the mason jar.  If you don’t want to use the spice mix, you could just use some cloves. Then, place a few cinnamon sticks on top of the spice mix (you might need to break or cut them to fit).  Next, add some cranberries until the jar is about half full.  Cut some pine leaves so they’ll fit in the jar and layer 4-5 on top of the cranberries.  Finish off by placing a few dried orange slices over the pine leaves.  I used the small oranges (called Clementines at my grocery store), they were the perfect size.  I wanted thin, even slices, so I cut the orange with a mandoline slicer, Then, I used a food dehydrator to dry them.

If you want to add directions, you can print them out and put them under the lid.  I found a free printable here.
Cut the vinyl saying with your electronic cutter.  Weed away the excess vinyl and use transfer tape to apply the vinyl to the jar.  I thought it was a little bit tricky to get the transfer tape to pick up the vinyl, but the end result is worth it.  It looks so pretty on the jar.
