I think spring has finally arrived and I am so excited! Here is a fun little project that I thought was so perfect for welcoming spring. I was able to make it with scrap wood, so it didn’t cost me anything! All you need are some wood scraps, paint, and vinyl.
In my vinyl cutting software, I resized the birdhouse to a size I liked. Then, I printed the pieces out and traced them onto my board. If your vinyl cutting software doesn’t print, you can also use a photo editing program to print it.
Then, I cut out and sanded each piece, then I glued together the roof pieces.
I picked out some bright fun colors and painted all the pieces.
I used vinyl stencils to add some fun designs to each birdhouse.
After I painted in the designs, I removed the vinyl and added the stencil for the door border.
Then, I painted the doors.
Once it dried, I removed the vinyl stencils, added white vinyl for the doors, and glued on the roofs.
These birdhouses would be cute hanging or sitting on a shelf or table.
Since mine will be sitting on a shelf, I glued all three houses to a small wooden strip to keep them from falling over. I think they look so cute for spring!Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post, but will earn a small percentage for sales as an affiliate. As always, all opinions are 100% my own.
In case your new here…
I’ve been learning how to make my digital cutter files available in different file formats, so I can share them with you! Each Friday, I will post a link for a free file for your digital cutter! Downloads will be available through 3/31/17 and are for personal use only. Commercial Licenses are available through my Etsy shop. Here is this week’s freebie. Enjoy!
As always, if you have any problems with the files, please let me know (this is still a learning process for me). I’ve included .jpg, .png, .svg. .ai, .eps, .dxf, .gsd and .studio in the zip file. Just click to download.
