I don’t remember ever being this happy that spring is finally here! The kids have been so happy to be able to play outside in the nice weather. So, here is a fun little sign to say hello to the new season. It was really easy to make and you probably already have everything you need.

HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED
- Thin wood strips (Mine measures approx 1.5″ x 4′)
- Vinyl (I used orange)
- Transfer Tape
- Wood Glue
- Paint (I used acrylic paints)
- Paintbrushes
- Spray Matte Finish Acrylic Sealer
- Electronic cutter (cricut explore, silhouette or other cutter)
- Cut File (available for free in my resource library)
HERE’S WHAT YOU DO
Cut your wood down into 3 pieces. You’ll need 2 – 6″ pieces and 1 – 11″ piece. I used lathe strips, but any thin wood will work. Start by painting all the pieces a bright yellow. After they dry, paint the long piece green and the shorter pieces purple.
Then, lightly sand each piece so some of the yellow base color is exposed. Use wood glue to attach the two small pieces to the large piece.
Open the design in your software program. Resize the design so it fits on the purple wood strips. My measured approx. 5″ x 2.5″. Cut out the viny with your machine, weed away the excess vinyl, and apply transfer tape.sign. Transfer the design to your wood sign.
Spray with a protective finish.
Find a cute flower pot to stick your new sign in. This would make such a cute gift and is perfect to brighten someone’s day.
