HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED

HERE’S WHAT YOU DO

STEP 1: DOWNLOAD THE FREE SVG FILE

The first thing you’ll need to do is get the free SVG file you’ll use for this project.  I keep all the SVG files I use for the projects I make in my SVG Library.  These SVG files work with Cricut and Silhouette machines, as well as many others. This library is open to everyone and is free!  You can access the library here. Look for the file called Reindeer Face BA2423. It will be listed under the Craftmas 2024 Category-Day 23.

STEP 2: CUT THE PIECES

Open the design in your cutting software and resize it to fit your tree slice.  Once everything is sized correctly, cut out the pieces with your Cricut or Silhouette.

Once the cardstock is finished cutting, remove it from the cutting mat. It’s best to flip over the mat and gently bend it over until the cardstock releases. This way, the cardstock shouldn’t get bent.

STEP 3: PREPARE THE TREE SLICE

If your tree slice doesn’t have a predrilled hole, you’ll need to add one.

Paint the tree slice light brown.  You’ll probably need a couple of coats of paint.  Let the paint dry.

STEP 4: ASSEMBLE THE ORNAMENT

Glue the black and white eye pieces together.

Place all the pieces on the tree slice and move around until you’re happy with the placement.  Make sure the hole is at the top.

Glue the eyes, nose, and mouth onto the front of the tree slice.

Flip the tree slice over and glue the antlers onto the back.

Thread a piece of ribbon through the hole and tie tightly in a double knot.

Tie another knot at the end of the ribbon to make a loop for hanging.

Trim off the excess ribbon to even out the ends.

And these cute ornaments are finished!
