I wanted to use my laser cutter to make something unique for Father’s Day. So, I decided to engrave a monogram on a leather wallet.  I think it turned out so cool and it was so easy to do. I think it will make a great Father’s Day gift.

HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED

  • Leather Wallet
  • Laser Cutting Machine Electronic cutter (I used the Xtool S1 20 Watt)
  • Cut File (I used this one)

HERE’S WHAT YOU DO

STEP 1: SET UP AND ENGRAVE WALLET.

Every brand of laser cutter/software will have a slightly different setup process.  I’m going to share how I set this project up using Xtool Creative Space.

After opening Creative Space, I selected my material. Next, I placed the wallet inside the box, set the distance, and marked the edges.

Next, I brought in my design to Creative Space.  I added the name to the monogram and then resized it to about 1.25″ tall and moved it to the lower right corner of the rectangle.  I set everything to engrave and then sent the design to the machine to process.

I love watching the laser at work.

And this is what it looked like after it had engraved the design.

It took just a few minutes to make, but it looks so professional. Isn’t that an awesome gift for Father’s Day?
