HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED

- Glue
- Green Gift Bag

- Cut File – Elf Gift Bag BA2320 (click here to get the SVG file for free from my free SVG Library)
HERE’S WHAT YOU DO
STEP 1: DOWNLOAD THE FREE SVG FILE
The first thing you’ll need to do is get the free SVG file you’ll use for this project. I keep all the SVG files I use for the projects I make in my SVG Library. These SVG files work with Cricut and Silhouette machines, as well as many others. This library is open to everyone and is free! You can access the library here. Look for the file called Elf Gift Bag BA2320. It will be listed under the Craftmas 2023 Category-Day 20.
STEP 2: CUT THE CARDSTOCK PIECES
Open the design in your cutting software and resize it to the width of your gift bag. The bag I used was a little over 5″ wide, so I resized my design to 5.13″ wide. You’ll need to measure the bags you’re using and adjust the width accordingly. The top of the stockings have perforation lines that will be cut with a regular blade. If you’re using Cricut Design Space, you’ll need to attach the perforation lines to the stocking behind it. Once everything is sized correctly, you can delete the top rectangle and cut out the pieces with your Cricut or Silhouette.
Once the cardstock is finished cutting, remove it from the cutting mat. It’s best to flip over the mat and gently bend it over until the cardstock releases. This way, the cardstock shouldn’t get bent.
STEP 3: ASSEMBLE THE GIFT BAG
Start by gluing the red shoe onto the green leg.
Next, glue on the light green stripes. Try to make sure the spacing between each strip is the same. Also, make sure the top stripe is below the perforation line.
Once you’ve added the stripes on the first leg, you can place the other leg next to it to glue on the stripes. This way, you can make sure to glue the stripes the same on each leg.
Now, grab your green bag and attach the red collar. The top of the collar should match up with the top of the gift bag. The sides should also match up.
Glue the green rectangle right in the center of the bag.
Then, glue the buckle onto the center of the rectangle.
Glue the two pockets below the belt. Make sure they are centered on the bag.
Grab one of the legs and fold down on the perforation lines.
Glue the leg onto the back of the bag. The perforation lines should go right along the bottom edge of the bag. Repeat with the other leg. Make sure they are spaced equally from the edges of the bag.
Open up the bag and press down on the tabs to help them stick to the bag.
Fill your bag up with a fun holiday gift and this bag is ready to give away. It’s so cute!
