HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED

HERE’S WHAT YOU DO

STEP 1: DOWNLOAD THE FREE SVG FILE

The first thing you’ll need to do is get the free SVG file you’ll use for this project.  I keep all the SVG files I use for the projects I make in my SVG Library.  These SVG files work with Cricut and Silhouette machines, as well as many others. This library is open to everyone and is free!  You can access the library here. Look for the file called Christmas Candy Holder BA2406. It will be listed under the Craftmas 2024 Category-Day 6.

STEP 2: CUT THE CARDSTOCK

Open the design in your software program. Resize the design to 7.5″ high and let the width adjust proportionally.   If you are using Cricut Design Space, you will need to ungroup everything.  Then select the red rectangle and the perforation lines and click attach.  Do the same with the green rectangle.  This will attach the perforation lines to the shapes behind them.  Cut out the pieces out of cardstock.

To remove the cardstock from the cutting matt, you’ll want to slightly bend the cutting mat and carefully pull off the pieces.

STEP 3: ASSEMBLE THE CANDY HOLDER

Once everything has been cut, you should have all the pieces shown below.

Glue the white circle onto the scalloped green circle.

Then, glue the candy cane, holly, and berry onto the white circle.

Fold the red rectangle along the perforation lines.

Add glue to the small side tab.

Glue to the other side to form a sleeve for the candy holder.

Glue the circle onto the sleeve.

Fold the larger rectangle along the perforation lines.

Place the chocolate candy inside.

Slide the sleeve over the top of the candy holder.

Fold some ribbon in half and thread it through the hole at the top of the candy holder.

Form a loop with your fingers and pull the ends of the ribbon through the loop.

Trim off the ends of the ribbon.

And this candy holder is complete!
