Well, August is almost over and it’s time to put away the summer decorations and start decorating for fall. I thought I’d start out my fall decorating by making a welcome sign for our front door.
I started with a board that was about 11″ x 5.5″.  I drilled two holes in the top corners, painted it white and applied this vinyl to create a cute background pattern.
Then, I painted the board beige and removed the vinyl.

I could have left it like that, but I wanted the background a little more subdued.  So, I sanded off some of the beige
and painted a bright red border.
Then, I added my vinyl.  I threaded some jute through the holes and tied on some cute matching ribbon, raffia, and burlap strips.
And now, I have a cute door decoration, perfect for September!
You can download the free SVG file for this project so you can make your own! I keep all the SVG files I use for the projects I make in my free SVG Library.  These SVG files work with Cricut and Silhouette machines, as well as many others.  This library is open to everyone and is free! You can access the library here. Look for the file called Apple Welcome. It will be listed under the Fall category.
