June is more than half way over and I realized I haven’t done anything patriotic, yet. So, I came up with this easy project using a plastic charger I got on clearance after Christmas.
I’ve wanted to try painting a charger for a while and I thought this would be a great project to try it out. My charger was metallic red, even though red is a patriotic color, it wasn’t quite the style I was going for. I started by roughing it up with some sandpaper. Then, I painted several coats of a creamy white.
After that dried, I applied my vinyl stars.
Then, I painted the rim blue and the inside red.
I was really worried the white paint would come off with the vinyl, so I was quite relieved when only the vinyl came off.
I let the paint dry overnight and then gave the whole thing a good sanding.
I’m so excited that it worked to paint the charger! I can see many more painted charger projects in the future!
I love it! Sanding it a little made it even better. 🙂

Cute! It would look good on a mantel or shelf.
Hi! I Love this project you made!! What kind of paint did you use? Did you have to seal the final project?
