Easter is almost here, which means we get to dye our Easter eggs soon! I’ve always enjoyed being creative when dying Easter eggs. For the past few years, I’ve cut out vinyl to use as stencils on our Easter eggs and they have turned out so cute. Today, I’d like to show you some of the fun designs we have been able to create.

HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED
-
- Hard boiled Eggs
-
- Vinyl (Color doesn’t matter, but I found Oracal 651 works best)
-
- Electronic cutter (cricut explore, silhouette or other cutter)
- Cut File (available for free in my resource library)
HERE’S WHAT YOU DO
Open the Easter Silhouette File in your software program. I measured a few eggs with a ruler and then kind-of estimated a good size to make the designs. Cut out the designs with your cutter. Weed away the excess vinyl, but don’t apply transfer tape. Instead, just pull each design off the backing like a sticker and put it on a dry hard-boiled egg. *Tip* The vinyl sticks better to warm eggs. Press the vinyl flat and try to make sure there are no wrinkles.
Place the egg in the prepared egg dye. Once it’s a color you like, take it out and put it on a paper towel to dry.
When the egg is dry, carefully remove the vinyl.
They’re not perfect, some of the dye gets under the vinyl, but overall, they look great. It’s fun to be creative. For even more color, try dying the egg before you on any vinyl. After it dried, apply the vinyl decal and put it in a different color of dye.
I love that this is such an easy project. Kids of all ages will love using the vinyl stencils to create fun and unique eggs. Do you like to dye Easter eggs? Have you done anything creative with them?
Thanks so much for this fantastic file of fun cut files. I love that mostof them can be used for more than one time of the year!!
Oh my word, what a great idea. I love this, thanks so much for this amazing file!
