Welcome to day 7 of my 25 Days of Craftmas series!  The first 6 days were Christmas countdown projects.  Although they were fun to make, by the end, I was tired of counting to 25 😊.  My little kids are also extremely confused as to how many days are actually left until Christmas.  Every sign says a different number and I don’t want to tell them that none of them are right.

I’m excited to move on to some other fun Christmas projects to share. I’ve got everything from home decor and apparel, to gift ideas and more.  Make sure you come back daily to check out the rest of the projects.  Today’s project was actually inspired by these darling Ho Ho Ho Signs.  That hanging jingle bell is just too cute. So, I made my own version, Burton Avenue style!

HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED

HERE’S WHAT YOU DO

The first thing you’ll need to do is get the free SVG file you’ll use for this project.  I keep all the SVG files I use for the projects I make in my SVG Library.  These SVG files work with Cricut and Silhouette machines, as well as many others.  This library is open to everyone and is free! You can access the library here. Look for the file called Joy w/Wreath. It will either be listed under the Christmas category-25 Days of Craftmas 2018 – Day 7.

Use wood glue to attach the wood stand to the sign.

One the glue has dried, paint everything white.

While the paint is drying, lay out the vinyl design in your software program.  The design should be 13″ x 7″.  Cut the two colors of vinyl and weed away the excess vinyl.  Apply transfer tape to both colors of vinyl.  Don’t layer them, yet.

Apply the red vinyl to your sign.

Use the hole in the center of the red vinyl circle as a guide for placing the center of the drill bit.

Then, start drilling until the hole saw cuts through the wood.

Folded the wire of the faux greenery in half to make it shorter.  Then, trim away some of the “needles” so everything fit nicely inside the circle.
