Here is an easy way to add some sparkle to a stenciled sign.

Here’s what you need:
Board
Paint
Glue
Extra Fine Glitter
Vinyl Stencil
Cut File – Thanksgiving is an Attitude BA2040 (available for free in my resource library)

Here’s what you do:
Drill holes if you’ll be hanging your sign.  Then, paint your board and distress if desired.

You’ll need to cut the stencil in two parts, one for each color you’ll be using.

Apply the first layer of the vinyl stencil.

Fill in the stencil with orange paint and let dry, then remove the vinyl stencil.

Apply the next stencil layer.

Paint over the design with glue (I used Elmer’s).  Then sprinkle with glitter.  I pushed the glitter down with my finger to be sure it got in all the tiny spaces. I found it was best to work in small sections so the glue didn’t dry before I added the glitter.

After the glue is dry, remove the excess glitter.  Then, carefully pull off the vinyl.

Use a small paint brush to brush away all the extra glitter. This part can be very time-consuming.

But, I think the results are worth it.

So pretty and sparkly!
