As I was cleaning a couple weeks ago, I found an old canvas tote bag my daughter was no longer using.  I had a little project in mind, so I talked her into giving it to me.  This is how it turned out.
I started by mixing my paint with different amounts of white until I had four colors that looked good.  Then, I taped off and painted the first two stripes.
After those had dried, I taped off the other two stripes and painted them.
I knew I wanted to add something decorative, so I made this fun swirl pattern and cut it out of heat press vinyl (love that stuff)!
So much cuter than the plain white bag.

  1. So cool! I originally thought you had bleached out the white swirls but I love that it's a transfer. Just begging for a book, a bottle of water and a towel for a day spent reading on the beach.

  2. Ooh, Angie, this is awesome! Love this ombre effect! It turned out supercute! Thanks for sharing at Homemaker in Heels! Hope you have a great weekend!
