As I was cleaning up my Christmas decorations, I found a cute chunky wood sign blank I had bought on black Friday. I was planning on making a Christmas sign with it, but that obviously didn’t happen. Well, my front door has been bare for way too long, so I decided to add some color to it and make a cute sign for winter. So, I got to work creating a new file.
This week, we got hit with a ton of snow and it is freezing outside, so, I figured the phrase “warm winter wishes” would be perfect to put on the sign. I thought it would be cute to add some dimension by using some scrapbook embellishments. I went through my stash and found these cute metal snowflakes and gemstones. After that, it was easy to decide on a color scheme for the design. I used Oracal 631 matte in azure blue, lilac, and silver.

I cut the vinyl with my cutter, weeded away the excess, and applied it to my sign. For a detailed tutorial on how I make multi-colored vinyl signs, click here. I got the cute sign from Michaels. It was already painted and distressed and ready for the vinyl. Unfortunately, it isn’t available online, but they might still have some in their stores.
I used hot glue to glue the embellishments in place.
I think it turned out pretty cute.
